Being Deaf.

DEFINITION:
Deaf.
/dɛf/
A Deaf person is someone who does not have ability to hear, partially or completely.
There are Deaf people out there who are doctors, nurses, dancers, preachers, singers, drivers, networking engineers, mechanical engineers, chefs, directors, CEOs, bosiness owner, and teachers.

Being a Deaf person is having the inability to hear.

If you are in Kenya or anywhere in the world and you happen to meet a Deaf person or to talk about a Deaf person, Do NOT call him/her Bubu, Hearing Impaired, instead, call him/her Deaf.

A lot of mistakes have ben observed concerning Deaf people in some parts of the world. Most of people call us Dumb, which refers to a person who is unable to talk. For us, thats a big mistake and the referal is Wrong. The only sifference between us Deaf and hearing people is our Inability to hear. In anything else, we are as able and reasonable as anyone else.

Being a Deaf person is NOT being a fool. Unfortunately, we are being taken for granted. The community should understand that we Deaf people also contribute important values into the community, seen or unseen.
Some people feel sorry for us being Deaf. Our answer to that is, let nobody feel sorry for any deaf people, we have lots of hidden abilities apart from the ability to hear.
We ask the Community to address us by our names, NOT by our condition, "Deaf". That way, we will feel loved, included, valued and cherished in tghe community.
We are NOT cursed, we are Blessed, Wonderful and Important just like YOU.
